FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE DIVA, ROSE KINGSLEY, PRESENTS AN EVENING OF JAZZ, BLUES, AND OPERA TO BENEFIT THE NANAKULI HIGH AND INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL PERFORMING ARTS CENTER NANAKULI, HI-JANUARY 23, 2015- Something wonderful is about to take place on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 7:00 pm at the McKinley High School Auditorium.
Diva, Rose Kingsley, from New York City and Southern California, a world acclaimed vocalist with a four-octave range, will be performing a special fundraiser concert for the Nanakuli High and Intermediate School Performing Arts Center.The concert will also feature a special performance by the Nanakuli High and Intermediate School Performing Arts Center.
Rose Kingsley has performed for four U.S. Presidents: George Bush, Sr., Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Gerald Ford. She has also given a Command Performance for HRH Prince Charles of England.
Rose has shared the stage with such luminaries as Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope, Vic Damone, John Denver, Kathryn Grayson, Connie Francis, Carol Channing and Peter Nero to name a few.
Her Broadway Musical credits include, “Phantom of The Opera,” “Fiddler on The Roof,” “Carousel,” and “Funny Girl.”
Rose’s training has included ‘The Juilliard School of Music’ and ‘The American Academy of Dramatic Arts’, NYC and she has performed with such great opera singers that include Luciano Pavarotti and Placido Domingo. Rose has performed Internationally as well as on the stages of The Metropolitan Opera, Carnegie Hall and Steinway Hall, N.Y.C.
Ms. Kingsley’s performance on the evening of February 21 will consist of a “Musical Journey” that will include Broadway, Jazz, and Blues and maybe even an “aria!” Her ‘Jazz Trio’ will be sharing the stage lead by her legendary Musical Director, Bob Corwin, who is the son-in-law of the great songwriter Johnny Mercer. Mr. Corwin has also been the Musical Director and Arranger for such greats as Peggy Lee, Carmen McRae, Anita O’Day and now, Rose Kingsley as “Simply Rose.”
The Nanakuli High and Intermediate School Performing Arts Center (NPAC) is an after school program for students in grades 4 to 12 from any school. Since 1991, NPAC has helped students develop self-confidence, selfesteem, and college and career skills (complex thinker, effective communicator, and collaborative learner) through the process of producing various dramatic and musical productions. Students learn acting, singing, dancing, stage technology, and video production skills in this program.
